Who we are
StockSense is operated by StockSense, based in Cambridge, MA.

What we collect
—Your email address and name when you create an account
—Your restaurant name, city, and profile information
—Sales data you upload by CSV and catalog data you sync from a supported POS system
—If you connect a POS provider (Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Toast, or Squarespace), the access token and location/merchant ID needed to keep that connection working
—If you use the affiliate program, your referral code, referral activity, and the payout method/handle you provide to get paid
—Product usage data — which features you use (forecasts run, imports, POS connections, plan changes) and when you're active — used to improve the product and understand business performance. This is aggregated internally; we do not sell it.
How we use it
—To generate demand forecasts for your restaurant
—To send you weekly forecast summaries and stock alerts
—To improve our forecasting model over time
—To track and pay out affiliate referral commissions, if you participate in that program
We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. Aggregated, anonymized business metrics (e.g. total active users, revenue, feature-adoption rates — never individual user data) may be shared with a prospective acquirer or investor as part of ordinary business diligence.
Who we share it with
We use the following third-party services to operate StockSense:
—Turso (database hosting) — turso.tech
—Vercel (app hosting) — vercel.com
—Stripe (payment processing) — stripe.com
—Brevo (email delivery) — brevo.com
—Groq, Google (Gemini), and OpenRouter (AI processing — Groq is primary, the others are automatic fallbacks if Groq is unavailable)
—Tavily (web search used for AI competitor analysis) — tavily.com
—Google Maps/Places (address autocomplete when you enter your restaurant's location) — google.com
—Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Toast, or Squarespace — only if you choose to connect that POS provider
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in to your account. If you arrive via a StockSense affiliate link, we also set a referral-attribution cookie (90 days) so the right affiliate is credited if you sign up — this is not used for advertising and is never shared with or sold to any third party.
Your rights
You can:
—Export all your data at any time from the Settings page
—Delete your account and all associated data by emailing arav.stocksense@gmail.com — we will delete everything within 7 days
—Update your personal information from the Settings page
Data storage
Your data is stored on Turso, a US-based database provider. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We do not store payment information — all payments are handled directly by Stripe.
Beta disclaimer
StockSense is currently in beta. While we take data security seriously, the product is under active development. We recommend not uploading highly sensitive business data during the beta period.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will email you at the address associated with your account before the changes take effect.
