Terms of Service

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Who this agreement is between

These terms are between you (the restaurant owner or manager using StockSense) and StockSense, operating as StockSense, based in Cambridge, MA.
By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. What StockSense does

StockSense generates demand forecasts for restaurant inventory based on your historical sales data, local weather conditions, and nearby events. The service is provided through the StockSense web application.

2. Forecasts and AI features are estimates

All forecasts generated by StockSense are statistical estimates based on the data you provide. They are not guarantees of future demand. StockSense is not liable for any ordering decisions you make based on our forecasts, including over-ordering, under-ordering, food waste, or lost sales.
The accuracy of forecasts depends directly on the quality and completeness of the data you provide.
AI-generated features (product insights, business health analysis, competitor analysis, and ingredient/recipe suggestions) are produced by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are provided for informational purposes only and are not professional business, financial, or culinary advice — you are responsible for verifying anything generated before acting on it.

3. Free plan

The free plan allows you to track up to 5 products and access basic forecasting features. No credit card is required for the free plan, and it is never charged. The free plan may have feature limitations compared to paid plans.

4. Free trial

Upgrading to any paid plan starts with a free trial — 7 days if you choose weekly billing, 14 days on monthly or annual billing. A card is required at checkout to start the trial. At the end of the trial your subscription begins and the card on file is charged automatically, unless you cancel before the trial ends.

5. Paid plans and payments

Paid plans (Fast Food, Fine Dining, Casual Dining, and Pro) are billed via Stripe at the interval you choose at checkout — weekly, monthly, or annual — at the price shown for that plan and interval. You can cancel at any time from your Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep paid access until then.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
If a payment fails, we will notify you by email and retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected after multiple attempts your account will revert to the free plan.

6. POS integrations

StockSense lets you optionally connect a supported point-of-sale provider when enabled for your account to sync catalog data. Historical sales for forecasting are uploaded by CSV, which works for any POS. Connecting a POS account is subject to that provider's own terms of service, and StockSense is not responsible for outages, data inaccuracies, or account issues originating from the POS provider itself. You can disconnect a POS integration at any time from Settings.

7. Affiliate program

Every account can share a referral link to earn a commission on referred customers' paid subscriptions, as described on the Affiliates page at the time you participate. Commissions accrue only on actual payments collected (not on trial periods) and are paid out manually once they clear and meet the minimum payout threshold.
We may withhold, reverse, or decline to pay commissions obtained through fraud, self-referral, or abuse of the program, and we may change commission rates or discontinue the program at any time on a going-forward basis.

8. Your data

You own your data. StockSense does not claim any rights to your sales data, restaurant information, or any content you upload.
We will not sell, share, or use your data for any purpose other than providing the StockSense service to you, except that aggregated, anonymized business metrics (never individual user data) may be shared with a prospective acquirer or investor as part of ordinary business diligence.
You can export or delete your data at any time.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:
—Use StockSense for any unlawful purpose
—Upload false or misleading data
—Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the service
—Share your account with others
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

10. Service availability

StockSense is provided “as is” during the beta period. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any losses caused by downtime or service interruptions.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will email you before they take effect. Continued use of StockSense after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
